UWF, 7 businesses honored for community contributions
The University of West Florida and seven local businesses were honored this week during the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce’s Industry Excellence Awards.
The awards recognize local employers that have demonstrated excellence in targeted industries, outstanding community involvement and otherwise contributed to the prosperity and economic health of the region.
About the winners:
- The Analyst Group provides customized staffing solutions and software development for call centers.
- Aviation Systems of Northwest Florida, a woman-owned small business, provides custom manufacturing and technical support services for complex aviation training systems for the Navy, Air Force, Army and Marine Corps.
- CACI International provides IT solutions for the defense, intelligence, homeland security and federal government markets.
- CTS America provides software solutions for law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel and dispatchers.
- Gulf Power has invested more than $1 billion in Northwest Florida and has reduced power plant emissions by 71 percent since 1992, despite an almost 20 percent increase in demand for electricity.
- L-3 Systems Field Support provides aerospace support services to the U.S. Department of Defense and foreign governments around the world.
- The University of West Florida School of Science and Engineering offers the next generation of learning through programs such as computer information science, electrical engineering, mathematics and statistics, physics and software engineering.
